Anna - The Movement

Anna Hazare is the name on every Indian's lips today. As Anna Hazare's fast enters 100 hours, the "I am Anna" movement, can only be lauded. It is a movement, to initiate steps towards the eradication of corruption that has engulfed & crippled the Indian political system, which has caused more damage to our own countrymen; more than anything else.

For starters, there is no violence, the peaceful sincere unprecedented support from the entire nation is the best part of this movement. The civil manner in which the movement has come about personifies the leader - Anna. In the streets of every city, one can see rallies with zealous patriotic fervour, the waving of the national flag, and the chants of "I am Anna" "Vande Mataram" echoing in our ears as everyone joins to support wholeheartedly in the crusade against corruption.

While the rallies go on, it is important to note, that they are so peaceful ; they go on in a systematic way; without disrupting even the traffic alongside. This is the new India, the young, educated India; supporting their selfless, patriotic and idealistic leader; demonstrating defiant resilience; albeit through a peaceful movement. This is the new India, that believes in action, that knows the right means to send the message across, where youth are informed about what is going on in the world around them.; this young India knows what is right and what is not. A young India, wise enough to know that violence is no way to show strength.

The strength of this movement comes from the magnitude of support it has from the youth of this country, the strength of this movement comes from the strong attitude demonstrated by their leader in purity of thoughts, words and actions, the strength of this movement comes from it's strong goal - a goal that every Indian feels strongly about; a goal that every Indian wants to see in the future India - An India Free of Corruption.
