Decisions!

As we go through life there are so many instances when we need to make choices, take decisions; and sometimes even let go. The point at which we take a decision and choose one path over the other is the most crucial point.

Sometimes these are easy, because logic and common sense tilts the favour heavily on one side. Sometimes it's an equally balanced state. Sometimes, you don't know if you have an option at all at the point when you are making the decision. You are relying on anticipations that the future may unfold an option that's better that the ones in front of you right now. This is the toughest call to take. The first 2 are easy - it's just a matter of choosing at the present moment.

What does one do when one is faced with this last option? Are there any standard ways to go about this one? Is there anything at all that equips us with the sensibility to decide and conclude with a "Oh, this is as good as it can get, let me just grab this one" OR "I am dead sure I am poised to get a better deal than this!"
Those faced with this situation will know - this last one is the most tricky, needs a lot of judgement, foresight and above all belief.

Thinking about it, there may be ways to go about it though - one would be to leave it to time to take the decision for you. Personally I don't like this approach too much. It feels like a lazy person's way of going about it. You may even end up missing the bus by taking this stand in my view! The second approach is look at what you've done in the past when faced with similar situations and evaluate what worked and what didn't and then do that. This needs a lot of memory of similar situations and objectivity to evaluate correctly :-) The last approach to me - which I really love is leave it to your sixth sense to tell you. Keep the thought in your mind, make the choice in your mind; and then observe what happens in the next few hours. Use the events that follow to take the decision eventually.

Very illogical - I know. Check it out! :-)
